Dear Laura,
Forgive me for getting your email from Sue instead of asking you for it directly, but everyone was around and it just would have been incredibly awkward – I’m sure you understand. Our conversation really stuck with me. It was so honest and comfortable. I’d forgotten what that was like.
The book is called “The Golden Door.” I remember how helpful it was to me when I was in your situation, and I very much hope it helps you, as well. If, after you’ve read it, you wanted to speak again, that would be great. And if not – if in fact this very email is entirely inappropriate – I apologize. Something is making me reach out despite the obvious, um, impediments.
